Please join in congratulating the following Northwestern Benefit associates on their recent insurance industry achievements:

Amanda Kunz - Georgia State insurance license in accident/health/sickness and life

Lindsay Sebesta - Georgia State insurance license in accident/health/sickness and life

To obtain a Georgia Life, Accident, and Sickness resident’s license, applicants must complete a 40-hour pre-licensing class training with an approved GA Department of Insurance provider. The 4-day course format includes training on:
  • Categories of life insurance basics
  • Regulations of the insurance business
  • Types of life insurance policies and provisions
  • Disability insurance
  • Major medical insurance
  • Senior citizen health plans such as Medicare and Medicare Supplement

Upon completion of the course, each applicant is required by the state to sit for a 2-hour exam. Upon passing the exam, the applicant receives their Georgia State License. Each licensee is required to complete 15 hours of continuing education each year in order to retain their license.

The ICEBS Fellow is awarded to individuals who, already having earned the CEBS designation*, take an additional continuing education course and an additional exam.  The designation or recognition of an individual as an ICEBS Fellow is good for one or two years at a time, depending on the track and exams taken. It symbolizes a commitment to continuing education above and beyond the CEBS designation itself, and to continuing to serve our clients at the highest academic level.

*CEBS- is the premier designation in total compensation, considered the standard of excellence in the industry. CEBS features a unique partnership with two leading academic institutions. In the U.S., CEBS is co-sponsored by the International Foundation and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Completion of eight exams is required to receive the CEBS professional designation. The courses cover group health benefits, retirement plans and compensation management. Candidates must complete six required courses and two of five elective courses.
